A bit about ME!!!
Ever since my childhood, I always wanted to be a professional Researcher as I grew up. My father is also a researcher and he is my main source of motivation towards this direction. I’ve always found many subjects intriguing and interesting, motivating me to investigate and research as many sources of information as I could get my hands on. Looking back, it’s that passion and commitment to exploration and discovery that is pushing me forward in this PhD journey. Get in touch if you’d like to learn more about my career and what I’m working on now.

PROJECTS
PhD Project
"Detection of diseases by paper-based microfluidic devices" under the guidance of Prof Sunando Dasgupta, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Kharagpur. (Ongoing)
Details:
-
Paper based microfluidic channels are being prepared by fabricating hydrophobic barrier that constrict the flow of analyte in a specific direction.
-
The reagents are spotted on the paper substrate that react6s with specific markers of diseases that are present in the analyte to undergo chromogenic reaction giving rise to colorimetric analysis.
-
The image analysis of the colored spots gives rise to estimation of concentration of biomarker present related to that specific disease.
Post Graduation Project
“Silver nanoparticles based multi-tasking superhydrophobic coatings on cotton fabric” under the guidance of Dr. Aditya Kumar, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad (Jul’18- Jun’20)
Details:
-
Designed the superhydrophobic cloth depicting self-cleaning, anti-fungal and antibacterial property along with stain resistant property.
-
The formation of the silver nanoparticles on its surface is made by in situ (UV irradiation) method of AgNO3 precursor and modified with long chain alkyl fluorosilane using the immersion technique
Solar evaporation done by using the silver nanoparticles coated cloth as absorber for conversion of solar energy to thermal energy required for interfacial evaporation.
Graduation Project
“Mass transfer in wetted wall column by experimental work and CFD analysis”
Details:
-
The Project Report starts with the basic use of CFD for simulating different designs of wetted wall column, grid optimization and also covers the results of different designs and change of mass transfer coefficient and its different assumptions taken to undergo the simulation.
The main achievements of this project are:
-
Since experimental facilities becomes costlier and depends on many parameters, this CFD analysis gives an idea of the variation of different parameters and have aided immensely to determine the hydrodynamic behavior of wetted wall column.
-
It gave chance to inspect the different designs and the validation and satisfaction of those designs in increasing mass transfer coefficient, residence time decreasing memory space of computer, repelling.
Internship
“Hydrogen production by Thermochemical Cu-Cl cycle” Details:
-
This project deals with the study of thermo-chemical Cu-Cl cycle for hydrogen production, which have been selected because it have been intensively studied and reported to give 40% efficiency and it can operate at low temperature and pressure.
-
This cycle has a maximum temperature of 5500C and it involves four reaction steps- producing hydrogen, copper ,hydrogen chloride and oxygen - and a cupric chloride drying step. Special emphasis has been given on the Hydrolysis step where this project mainly deals with.
-
It also undertakes the calculation and shown the trends of varying the Gibbs Free Energy, Equilibrium Constant and Extent of reaction with and without taking into consideration of an undesirable side reaction of CuCl2 decomposition for the hydrolysis step.
-
It also shows some experimental data obtained and characteristics of the experimental set up.
-
It also calculates the minimum fluidization velocity for designing a fluidized bed.
